Sunday School - aka Children’s Church 9:00 - 10:00 AM
School Year (September through May)
Children attend the first part of the Sunday church service in the sanctuary. After the youth talk (approximately 9:15 AM), children are escorted to Sunday School classrooms to focus on Bible lessons. At the close of Sunday School, children return to the sanctuary in time for communion service.
Summer (June, July and August)
- Same format as the School Year.
- Lessons focus on crafts and fun activities.
Contact Pastor Susan (email@example.com) if you are interested in first communion for your child.
For the first time, our congregation will host our own Confirmation Program for 7th and 8th graders. We will be using a more flexible format, meeting once a month as a group, and doing other learning and activities at home or online. Our first group meeting will be October 20 at 2 PM at the church; we strongly encourage students and parents to attend this introductory meeting! Adults are also welcome to attend! Contact Pastor Susan (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in these classes.
Vacation Bible Experience (VBX) aka Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Held in July, this experience is for children ages preschool through 6th grade and is free.
Children’s Church Mission Project
Children’s Church and VBX offerings go to ELCA’s God’s Global Barnyard. The Barnyard (gifts of animals) supports sustainable development ministries of ELCA’s efforts to eliminate world hunger.
The Christian Education program is led by Lawrence Burkhard. We’d love to have you join the group of adult leaders. Please contact him if you have questions or would like to assist in any way at email@example.com.
